Résumé :

This article examines the link between coastal erosion and irregular migration in the commune of Kafountine. It thus seeks to show that due to the advance of the sea for several years in the commune of Kafountine, many individuals have found it necessary to take the paths of irregular migration. The analyses are developed based on a series of surveys carried out from October 2023 to March 2024. Semi-directed interviews, life stories and discussions were conducted with candidates for irregular migration. The results show that coastal erosion has impacted the activities of the fishing sector, including a significant part of the population, active there. This situation has therefore led a certain part of the population of Kafountine to migrate in search of other sources of income. Keywords : environment, coastal erosion, irregular migration, kafountine
