Résumé

This article investigates lexico-semantic borrowings in Dᴐgᴐsᴐ spoken in the Municipality of Sangha (Mali), in relation to four contact languages: Bamanankan, French, Arabic, and Fulfulde. It addresses the influence of language contact on Dᴐgᴐsᴐ, examining the mechanisms of integration and adaptation of borrowings, and the contexts in which they occur most frequently. The study is drawn on the sociolinguistic theory of language contact and semantic analysis of borrowings. It aims to identify borrowed words, analyze their semantic and lexical structures, and understand the mechanisms of their integration into Dᴐgᴐsᴐ. It relies on qualitative data collection and analysis. Semi-structured interviews with native speakers provide a substantial corpus, further enriched through participant observation and linguistic analysis of the collected data. The findings have revealed a strong presence of borrowings in religious, cooking, educational, administrative, agricultural, and commercial fields. French, the main borrowing language, followed by Bamanankan, Fulfulde, and Arabic, provided numerous words adapted to the structures of Dᴐgᴐsᴐ. The study thus highlights the dynamism of multilingualism and the lexical enrichment of Dᴐgᴐsᴐ through prolonged contact.
