Résumé
The rise of AI tools like ChatGPT has transformed language learning and assessment, challenging the authenticity
and validity of traditional project-based evaluations. While these assessments have valued research, writing,
creativity, and critical thinking, AI-generated outputs increasingly threaten their reliability. This study explores
how to rethink project-based assessment to reliably evaluate learners’ competencies amid uncontrollable AI use. It
examines AI’s impact on project assessment validity and explores didactic strategies, especially oral presentations,
to enhance authenticity and accountability. The article proposes a didactic framework shifting focus from written
work to oral presentations to maintain fairness, rigor, and learner development in the AI era without rejecting
technological aid.
